"Recapping WWE Raw February 27th: Lesnar Accepts Omos' Challenge & The Bloodline Dominates Tag Team

Greetings and welcome to the latest coverage and recap of WWE Raw on February 27th, brought to you by Don't Say The F Word podcast.

With WrestleMania 39 still several weeks away, the WWE has a lot of work to do to build up the card and progress all of the current storylines.

During this week's show, we witnessed several exciting developments, including Brock Lesnar responding to Omos' challenge, and The Miz hosting a special Hollywood edition of Miz TV. In addition, we saw Damage CTRL put their women's tag team titles on the line against the formidable duo of Becky Lynch and Lita, while Candice LeRae and Piper Niven faced off, and Asuka took on Carmella.

Keep reading as we delve into the highlights of Monday's episode of Raw and examine every moment in detail.

"Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa Battle The Street Profits on WWE Raw"

One of the standout matches of the night was Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa taking on The Street Profits in a tag team showdown.

Before the match even began, we were treated to a lengthy recap video, highlighting what went down in the previous week's episode. Jimmy and Solo entered the ring without Jey Uso, and Jimmy delivered a promo, insisting that The Bloodline was doing just fine and that Roman Reigns would continue to lead the way.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins wasted no time in talking some trash before knocking Jimmy and Sikoa out of the ring. When the match finally got started after a commercial break, Dawkins initially had the upper hand, but Jimmy soon turned things around.

While both teams had their moments to shine, The Bloodline was in control for most of the match. After the mid-match commercial break, The Profits were able to mount a bit more offense, but it was ultimately Sikoa who secured the win for his team with a Samoan Spike to Dawkins.

Overall, the match was fast-paced and exciting, and it was fun to see how well Sikoa worked alongside his brother. However, it's clear that WWE needs to find a way to give Ford and Dawkins more to do since both sets of tag titles are currently tied up in The Bloodline storyline.

"Mark's Top Spots: Notable Moments from Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa vs. The Street Profits Match on WWE Raw"

There were several Top Spots for Mark The Monster Clementine during the match, including Jimmy's claim that family fights are normal, his struggle to hold back laughter during The Profits' promo, and the impressive skills and agility shown by both Dawkins and Sikoa. Dawkins, in particular, has been impressing fans with his increased move set and improved physical conditioning.

While The Street Profits may not have come out on top in this match, they certainly put up a good fight and continue to be fan favorites.

Winners: Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso

Grade: B

"Brock Lesnar and MVP Agree to WrestleMania 39 Match with Omos in the VIP Lounge"

The VIP Lounge furniture was set up in the ring, but Brock Lesnar's entrance music interrupted MVP's introduction. The two exchanged words about the potential match between Lesnar and Omos at WrestleMania 39, with Lesnar eventually agreeing to the bout with apparent excitement.

They made it official by shaking hands and toasting to the agreement, with Lesnar even offering his personal alcohol to Omos' manager, only for MVP to accidentally spit it in his face. Attempting to apologize and help clean him up, MVP was instead met with an F-5 from The Beast.

While the potential match between Lesnar and Omos may not have been an immediate crowd-pleaser, the segment's execution was well-done and helped sell the match.

MVP's contribution was crucial as Omos is not yet confident on the mic. The high-five between Lesnar and MVP added a comedic element to the segment, leaving fans chuckling. One wonders what The Beast had in his flask.

Cody Rhodes vs Chad Gable: A Technical Showcase

The second match of the night saw Cody Rhodes facing off against Chad Gable, with Otis by Gable's side. Both wrestlers showed off their technical prowess with a series of quick takedowns and counters. However, Gable's powerful right hand quickly shifted the momentum in his favor.

Gable focused his attack on Rhodes' knee, causing the American Nightmare to sell the injury and struggle to regain his footing. Despite this, Rhodes managed to avoid a flying headbutt and turn the match back in his favor.

The match was highly competitive, with Rhodes selling a lot for Gable to make it feel even more thrilling. While Rhodes eventually emerged victorious, the journey to the finish was tons of fun.

One touching moment came before the match when Rhodes made a child's year by giving them a hug and a replica title belt. It's important to remember that pro wrestling is designed to appeal to younger fans, and seeing kids having a great time can make an event more enjoyable for everyone.

Gable showcased his versatility with his signature ankle lock, which he applied in numerous ways throughout the match. He also sold Rhodes' moves perfectly, making for a more realistic and exciting bout.

Rhodes had some standout moments as well, including a smooth transition into a Figure Four and a stunning Cody Cutter from the top rope.

In his post-match promo, Rhodes announced his intention to head to SmackDown and confront Roman Reigns. Overall, the match was a technical showcase and a testament to the skills of both wrestlers.

Grade: A-

"Asuka vs. Carmella: A Lackluster Match with Little Excitement

Asuka took on Carmella in a match that left something to be desired. While it wasn't a quick squash match for Asuka, the action wasn't particularly exciting, and the outcome was predictable. Here are some notable moments and observations from the match:

The fact that the match went through a commercial break suggests that it was meant to be a significant part of the episode, but it failed to hold my attention.

Carmella did show some bravery in taking on Asuka and even had a few moments of control, but it wasn't enough to make the match truly compelling.

While Asuka is usually portrayed as a dominant force, her willingness to sell for her opponents is a testament to her professionalism.

The match did serve a purpose in giving Asuka a win and setting up her calling out Bianca Belair, but it felt like a filler match with little significance.

Carmella's kicks were decent, but the match as a whole was forgettable and lacked excitement.

The back fist from Asuka looked like it connected a little too hard on Carmella, which was a bit concerning.

Overall, the match was a lackluster performance from both wrestlers, with Asuka coming out on top as expected..

Winner: Asuka

Grade C

"Candice LeRae vs. Piper Niven: A Lackluster Match with a Surprising Twist"

On the latest episode of NXT Dark...oh wait I guess this is actually main roster Raw, Candice LeRae took on Piper Niven in a match that left much to be desired. Adding to the lackluster performance was the confusion surrounding Nikki Cross's presence at ringside, with LeRae appearing surprised to see her accompanying her to the ring.

Despite Niven's size and power advantage over LeRae, the latter managed to pull off a quick win by rolling up her opponent. However, LeRae didn't even bother to check on Cross, who was thrown into the barricade by Niven during the match.

Overall, the match felt rushed and didn't give either wrestler a chance to shine. As a result, it's no surprise that it received a low grade of D+.

It's worth noting that this match marked a change in Cross's character, which could potentially be a turning point for her. However, it remains to be seen whether this is just another gimmick or an attempt to make her more relatable to the WWE Universe. One positive takeaway from the match was LeRae's impressive bump from the top rope to the floor.

Winner: Candice LeRae

Grade: D+

Bobby Lashley Dominates Elias, Seth Rollins Challenges Logan Paul on Monday Night Raw

Bobby Lashley faced Elias in a rematch, quickly dominating and getting the submission victory.

Seth Rollins also issued a challenge to Logan Paul, while hosting an episode of "Miz TV" with The Miz. Despite some entertaining moments, these segments were just setting up for future events.

"Otis vs. Johnny Gargano: A Matchup with Mixed Results

Otis went head-to-head with Johnny Gargano in an intense match that left fans on the edge of their seats. Otis had been looking for a match and was ready to take on anyone who dared to step into the ring with him. That's when Johnny Gargano answered the call.

Maxxine Dupri and Maximum Male Models were at ringside to watch as Otis dominated the match early on, using his strength and size to overpower his opponent. Johnny Wrestling struggled to put together any offense in the first few minutes.

However, the match took an unexpected turn when ma.çé and mån.sôör tried to interfere. Luckily, Dexter Lumis appeared in the crowd and took out ma.çé with a chokehold, allowing Gargano to recover and hit a huge DDT on the apron.

In the end, Johnny Wrestling was able to get the win in a relatively short match. While there were certainly some highlights, many fans felt that the match could have been even better with just a few more minutes.

One notable observation from the match was that Otis was there for Gable earlier, but Gable was nowhere to be seen for this match. Additionally, the apron DDT spot looked great, but WWE needs to figure out what to do with Lumis because this pairing with Gargano only works with the rest of The Way.

Overall, the match between Otis and Johnny Gargano was a solid C+. While it wasn't the most memorable match in recent memory, it certainly delivered some exciting moments and showcased the talents of both wrestlers.

"Forgetting the Women's Tag Belts: Nostalgia Pop Match Fails to Impress"

The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match as the main event of the night, but as a fan, it left me feeling underwhelmed. I'll admit, I had even forgotten that the women's tag belts were a thing. The match saw champions Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky defend their titles against Becky Lynch and Lita, but the bout failed to deliver the excitement I was hoping for.

Although Lynch carried most of the load for her team, Lita showed some ring rust and had trouble executing her moves. While Sky's moonsaults were impressive, the match overall lacked that wow factor. The show was also briefly interrupted when Trish Stratus ran down to attack Bayley, which seemed random and out of place.

In the end, Lita hit Sky with a moonsault to secure the pin and win the tag titles, with Stratus joining them in their celebration. The match earned a solid B grade, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. Overall, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match was a forgettable part of the night for me.
