Born Eldridge Wayne Coleman, Graham began his journey as a bodybuilder in the 1960s, eventually forging a close friendship with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Transitioning into professional wrestling in the late '60s, he made his mark in Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling Promotion. It was during his time in the American Wrestling Association that he earned the moniker "Superstar." In 1975, Graham debuted in the WWF, teaming up with Spiros Arion in a tag team match. He briefly departed but returned to the WWF in 1977, clinching the coveted WWF Heavyweight Championship.

However, Graham's career faced challenges following his loss of the title to Bob Backlund in 1979. His departure from the territory coincided with the emergence of health issues resulting from the toll wrestling took on his body and his extensive use of steroids. At that time, local reports circulated about his passing, including an article by Gorilla Monsoon that was never retracted.

In 1982 and 1983, Graham made a brief return to the WWF with a new look, sporting a shaved head, mustache, and a Karate gimmick. Unfortunately, this venture didn't gain traction. He subsequently had stints in the AWA and NWA before making his final run as a wrestler in the WWF in 1986. However, his declining health forced him to transition into a full-time commentator role, and he was eventually phased out in late 1988.

After leaving the company, Graham became an outspoken advocate against the dangers of steroid use in professional wrestling. He publicly called on Vince McMahon to address the issue and clean up the industry. Graham's vocal stance coincided with the McMahon steroid scandal, leading to a strained relationship between the two parties. However, years later, they reconciled, paving the way for Graham's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.

Throughout the years, Graham battled numerous health problems, and his condition worsened in the past decade. His wife, Valerie, shared on Facebook that he had experienced significant weight loss in recent months. Ultimately, the decision was made to remove him from life support.

The wrestling community mourns the loss of a true icon, whose influence will continue to shape the sport for generations to come.
