Professional wrestling has been a cornerstone of pop culture for many years, with its unique blend of athleticism, storytelling, and larger-than-life characters. One of the most important aspects of wrestling has been the concept of factions, or groups of wrestlers who band together for a common goal. In recent years, two factions in particular have risen to the top of the conversation in terms of influence on the business: the New World Order (NWO) and D-Generation X (DX).

Both factions were created in the 1990s, during the height of the wrestling boom known as the Monday Night Wars. The NWO was formed in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1996, when Hulk Hogan turned heel and aligned himself with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The group quickly grew to include several other wrestlers and became known for their black and white colors, their "too sweet" hand gesture, and their willingness to break all the rules.

DX, on the other hand, was formed in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 1997, as a response to the NWO's success. The original members were Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Chyna, and the group quickly became known for their edgy and controversial antics, such as crotch-chopping and breaking the fourth wall.
So which faction was more influential? It's a difficult question to answer, as both groups had a significant impact on the wrestling industry. The NWO, for example, was responsible for the formation of the "nWo Wolfpac" faction, which featured many of the NWO's biggest stars and helped keep WCW afloat during its final years. The NWO was also instrumental in the creation of the "Monday Night Wars" between WCW and the WWF, which led to some of the most memorable moments in wrestling history.

DX, on the other hand, was responsible for some of the most iconic moments in WWF/E history, such as the "Montreal Screwjob" and the "Attitude Era." The group's influence can still be felt today, with several of its members still active in the wrestling industry. Triple H, in particular, has become one of the most powerful people in wrestling, serving as the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative for WWE and overseeing the development of NXT, one of WWE's most popular brands.

Of course, both factions have had a significant impact on the wrestling industry in recent years through their influence on other factions. The Bullet Club, for example, was heavily influenced by the NWO, featuring many of the same members (such as AJ Styles and Karl Anderson) and using the "too sweet" hand gesture as a tribute to the NWO. The Bullet Club has since become one of the most popular factions in wrestling, with members like Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks becoming international stars.

Ultimately, the question of which faction was more influential comes down to personal opinion. The NWO was undoubtedly one of the most important factions in wrestling history, but DX's impact on the industry cannot be ignored. Both factions helped shape the wrestling industry as we know it today, and their influence will continue to be felt for years to come.
